Ansa Assuncao, LLP Achieves Defense Verdict in Miami-Dade County, Florida

Trial team Dan Ansa, Matt Meyer and Kristen Caldwell achieved a defense verdict on behalf of an international transportation company on December 16, 2010. The jury trial, which was venued in Florida State Court in Miami-Dade County, lasted nearly three weeks and related to litigation that had been ongoing since 2005. The trial involved complicating factors such as spoliation of evidence, evidentiary presumptions, and a claim for punitive damages. The Plaintiff asked the jury to award more than $3 million in compensatory damages alone.

Ansa Assuncao, LLP Adds Associate Michael Bonner to its Philadelphia Office

Mr. Bonner joined Ansa Assuncao following a two-year judicial clerkship with the Honorable Robert F. Kelly, United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Prior to his clerkship, Mr. Bonner earned his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law, where he served as Associate Editor of Outside Articles for The Villanova Environmental Law Journal. During law school, Mr. Bonner interned with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and with the Honorable James Murray Lynn in the Court of Common Pleas, First Judicial District of Pennsylvania. He earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism, cum laude, from Loyola College in Maryland.
