Ansa Assuncao, LLP to Present Oral Argument to United States Supreme Court

Ansa Assuncao, LLP attorney Arthur Fergenson will argue before the United States Supreme Court on January 11, 2011. The argument relates to the Firm’s Petition for Certiorari seeking review of the New Jersey Supreme Court’s recent decision in Nicastro v. McIntyre Machinery America, Ltd., 201 N.J. 48, 987 A.2d 575 (2010), under which New Jersey courts are now permitted to exercise in personam jurisdiction over a foreign manufacturer based solely on a showing that its product was purchased by a New Jersey consumer. Ansa Assuncao, LLP Adds Associate Jill Walsh to its Philadelphia Office

Ms. Walsh earned her J.D., high honors, from Rutgers University School of Law – Camden in 2009. While at Rutgers, Ms. Walsh was an Associate Notes Editor for the Rutgers Journal of Law and Religion, as well as an active participant in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. She also completed a legal internship with the Honorable Joel Schneider, United States Magistrate Judge for the District of New Jersey. Ms. Walsh earned her B.A., summa cum laude, in English from The College of New Jersey in 2006. Prior to joining Ansa Assuncao, Ms. Walsh served as a District Representative for Congressman Robert E. Andrews, First District of New Jersey, where she advocated on behalf of constituents in health insurance, real estate, and employment matters.
