Ms. Hartwig conducts a diverse civil litigation practice, representing clients across the nation in matters involving wrongful death and catastrophic personal injury claims, commercial disputes, consumer class actions, and products liability.  Prior to joining Ansa Assuncao in September 2011, Ms. Hartwig had the honor of serving as a law clerk to Associate Justice Roberto A. Rivera-Soto, Supreme Court of New Jersey for the 2010-2011 term.  Preceding her clerkship at the Supreme Court of New Jersey, Ms. Hartwig served as a law clerk to the Honorable Joel Schneider, United States Magistrate Judge for the District of New Jersey for the 2009-2010 term. Ms. Hartwig earned her J.D., high honors, from Rutgers University School of Law – Camden in 2009.  While at Rutgers, Ms. Hartwig was a Notes and Comments Editor on the Rutgers Law Journal, as well as a legal research and writing teaching assistant, and an active participant in the Child and Family Advocacy Clinic.  She also completed a legal internship with the Honorable Joseph E. Irenas, United States District Judge for the District of New Jersey.

Before entering law school, Ms. Hartwig was a Federal Police Officer for the Supreme Court of the United States from August 2004 to May 2006.  She was assigned to protect the Justices, the Supreme Court Building, grounds, and adjacent streets.  She was trained to make arrests and carry a firearm.  Ms. Hartwig earned her B.S., in Accounting, from Rutgers University, School of Business in 2004.  She was a NCAA Division I scholarship athlete on the Rutgers Field Hockey Team from 1999-2003.  She was Offensive Player of the Year in 2003, named to the Big East Athletic Academic All-Star Team, 2001-2003, and nominated to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Academic All-American Team in 2003.

Ms. Hartwig is a member of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey state bars, and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
