After graduating from law school, Ms. Schick was the law clerk to the Honorable Paul W. Grimm, United States District Court for the District of Maryland. Upon completion of her clerkship, Ms. Schick joined DLA Piper as an associate attorney. At DLA Piper, she represented public and private companies in connection with product liability, commercial, business, and negligence litigation.
Ms. Schick has tried numerous cases in state and federal courts and has authored appellate briefs for the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Ms. Schick has presented oral arguments before the Fourth Circuit. Ms. Schick also has extensive experience in mediation and settlement.
Ms. Schick left DLA Piper to accept a position as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Maryland where her experience included defending the United States in civil actions involving torts, contracts, employment, immigration, civil rights, as well as other areas of the law. In addition, Ms. Schick prosecuted narcotics, money laundering, fraud, and child exploitation, sexual assault cases.
Ms. Schick is a member of the State bars of Maryland and the District of Columbia as well as a member of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, United States District Court for the District of Columbia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Ms. Schick’s recent accomplishments include:
- Obtained a defense verdict after a seven day construction defect trial in Baltimore County Circuit Court, Maryland.
- Successfully opposed a motion to remand on grounds of lack of diversity jurisdiction after the case had proceeded in federal court for more than one year. Erie Insurance Exchange v. Builder Services Group, 616 F. Supp. 2d 578 (D. Md. 2009).
- Obtained summary judgment in a construction defect (fire) case on the grounds of spoliation of evidence pending in Federal District Court in Maryland. Erie Insurance Exchange v. Builder Services Group, 659 F.Supp.2d 701 (D. Md. 2009).
- Obtained summary judgment for an international elevator company in a personal injury claim pending in D.C. Superior Court where Plaintiff was seeking more than $1,000,000.

- Represented international transportation and logistics company in catastrophic injury litigation.
- Represented international elevator and escalator company in products liability matters.
- Represented various automobile manufacturers in product liability claims involving defect and crashworthiness claims.
- Represented national company in construction defect and personal injury litigation.
- Represented multiple companies in commercial litigation.
- Defended more than thirty employment actions in federal court including claims of discrimination as they relate to race gender national origin, age sexual orientation and pregnancy. Also defended employment actions involving retaliation, whistle blower, and wage discrimination claims.
- Advised federal agency and national manufacturing company regarding employment issues.
- Represented the United States in a class action lawsuit involving the removal of tenants and the demolition of a 1000 unit low-income housing development.
- Represented the United States in a permanent injunction and declaratory judgment action brought by an international pharmaceutical company seeking to bar a generic drug from entering the market.
