Roman T. Galas

Mr. Galas joined Ansa Assuncao in September 2009 having completed a two year judicial clerkship with the Honorable David R. Strawbridge, United States Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. As an associate with Ansa Assuncao, Mr. Galas conducts a diversified civil litigation practice which is nationwide in scope, and includes transportation, products liability, commercial, and tort litigation. The clients he represents include an international motor carrier, and automotive, industrial, elevator, and consumer products manufacturers in the defense of wrongful death, catastrophic personal injury, and property damage claims across the country.

Mr. Galas is admitted to practice before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the Supreme Court of New Jersey, and the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Prior to clerking with Judge Strawbridge, Mr. Galas earned his J.D., cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law, where he was a Herman J. Obert Award recipient for having attained the highest grade in the course of Business Organizations. During law school, Mr. Galas interned with the Center for Disability Law and Policy and participated in the Farmworkers Legal Aid Clinic, serving as lead counsel for clients in Immigration Court proceedings. He also served as research assistant to Professor Patrick M. Brennan.

Mr. Galas earned his bachelor’s degree in economics, with a management concentration, from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a kicker for two Ivy League Championship-winning football teams and kicking coach for a third, and was a member of the junior varsity basketball team.

Mr. Galas is a member of the Villanova Inn of Court, and is fluent in Polish.
