Mr. McLaughlin’s diverse national practice is concentrated on insurance-related issues, business disputes and catastrophic injury litigation. In the business litigation context, Mr. McLaughlin represents companies involved in contract, insurance coverage and commercial real estate disputes, actions alleging business torts and consumer protection statute violations, franchise litigation and employment-related claims. In the personal injury context, Mr. McLaughlin has extensive experience defending manufacturers of vehicles, industrial equipment and a wide variety of consumer products in product liability actions and corporations facing exposure from industrial accidents and catastrophic events.
Mr. McLaughlin represents clients at the trial and appellate levels in both state and federal courts. He also advises client-companies on risk management issues, coordinates national defense strategies and conducts reviews of corporate protocols, contracts and employee training and operations manuals.
Mr. McLaughlin is a member of the state and federal bars of New York and Connecticut. He has successfully litigated matters in California, Connecticut, Indiana, Iowa, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont and Washington.
Before founding Ansa Assuncao, LLP with his partners, Mr. McLaughlin served as Counsel in the New York office of DLA Piper LLP.
