Melissa specializes in labor and employment law. She defends companies and their employees in federal and state court actions and before administrative agencies alleging employment discrimination, civil rights violations and defamation. She advises and provides training to companies on various employment matters. Specifically, Melissa drafts FMLA, electronic use, drug and alcohol testing and other policies and advises the firm’s clients on questions regarding the FMLA, wage and hour laws, employee terminations, harassment investigations and the Americans with Disabilities Act. She also drafts agreements, including employment agreements, separation agreements, and confidentiality and/or noncompete agreements. Melissa devotes a portion of her practice to commercial and catastrophic tort matters.
